Organic, local-grown, pesticide-free vegetables are taking positions of prominence in the grocery market. The idea is that these are healthier, tastier, and more economically sustainable than other sources of food. I don’t know whether this is true or not, but I will admit there is a sort of comfort knowing where your food comes from. But why stop at buying these kinds of produce when you can make your own? With the right kind of attention and willingness to learn, you can grow your own food free of pesticides or preservatives. Vegetable Garden Guides will show you how to grow your own foods, providing you with a useful tool whether you want to be more environmentally friendly or just like the taste of homegrown vegetables. Everyone knows, whether they like it or not, that math is the most important subject in school. Even if you don’t think you need it for your career, chances are you’re going to run into situations where knowing math really helps pretty often. As I wrote before, education apps are becoming more common and technology is no stranger to teachers and classrooms these days. So of course there are tons of apps for teaching kids mathematics being developed. Many of these apps are directed at children still in elementary school and feature simple lessons about basic arithmetic. There are also several apps that cover all the bases, from elementary math to calculus and linear algebra. Growing up I was very much into math but everyone else wasn’t, so when I used a few of these apps I thought about how helpful these apps would have been for people who didn’t quite “get” it. With the increasing use and acceptance of mobile technology in classrooms, teachers and students continually gain access to more and better resources for whatever subject is being covered. Laptops are a common site in most college classrooms and professors have already taken advantage of online education resources. So far this adaptation of technology has been successful and developers are now attempting to achieve the same success in the age of mobile technology. A nice and polished example of these tools is EMD PTE. EMD PTE is a new education app compatible with both the iPhone and the iPad which provides teachers and students extensive information about the periodic table of the elements.

Can you remember the grammar lessons you had in elementary school? High school? Chances are you’ve forgotten most of the grammar lessons from your school days (and it’s not really your fault). Grammar isn’t taught enough to stick; it isn’t covered as well as topics like science and math which are seen as more important to success. However, reading and writing skills are still highly valued abilities these days because no matter what media we communicate through, these skills are necessary for proper understanding. With the Grammar App, you can relearn the rules of grammar and refresh your writing ability.

In a world where basic information is open and at hand for everyone to see, there’s no excuse for being ignorant of the world around us. There’s no doubt that humanity is heading closer and closer towards globalization. Originally published as a website by the C.I.A., the World Factbook contains the basic economic, political, and social information that should be kept in mind when we interact with the world outside of the U.S. The World Factbook 2010 app brings hundreds of pages of information into the palm of your hand.

Food. FOOD. Food. FOOD.
“Food” is one of the most beautiful words I have ever learned to say. I like food. I love food. In fact, one of my hobbies is to try to find and taste the food of the highest quality wherever I am, whether it’s American, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Mexican etc.
And then I came across Zagat to Go now on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. If you are a seeker of good food or just like to eat out in general, this app is perfect. This app is also useful when you are traveling and have no clue where to find good food in a new area. Read the rest of this entry » |
