The iPad has some amazing apps for those who are artistically inclined, there are none quite like Swakker Doodle. While Swakker Doodle may not be the most advanced art app out there, it is certainly the most fun, and takes drawing to a more social realm.

There are so many moments when a personal photographer would come in handy. If nothing else, it would save all the camera power you waste by taking and re-taking photographs of yourself. Well, good news! Auto Portrait is your very own personal photographer, right from your iPhone. This hit photography app allows even those of us who have not invested in the iPhone 4 to take good, accurate pictures of ourselves. It works simply by having you decide where you would like to be in a certain frame, and then you just aim your camera at yourself. The app then tells you (yes, with an actual voice) if and how to need to reposition the camera so that you get the picture you want. Don’t worry, you can also select how many people will be displayed in the picture, so this is a tool that can be enjoyed alone and with others. No more cropping yourself in or enduring tons of painful retakes, Auto Portrait is a pocket photographer you can rely on! |

Simple were the times when reality was exactly as we saw it. Now, apps are introducing augmented experiences to what’s right in front of our face. By utilizing the iPhone camera, many apps enable you to see things that aren’t immediately there, be it stores and restaurants in the nearby areas, information about your surroundings, or explosions of cars you see that you don’t particularly like. These “augmented reality” apps show what’s there in conjunction with what’s not, and could very well be the future of how we perceive reality, by enhancing it with information, fabrications, suggestions, others’ feedback, and advertisements. In the old days, artists used to draw each frame by hand in order to create the first cartoons. We’ve come a long way in animation since then, but if you’re feeling nostolgic, there’s an app that allows you to go back to the basics. Animation Creator is an app for the iPhone that allows you to draw your own animated shorts.

As I previously wrote, the current incarnation of the iPhone has plenty of photo editing and effects applications. The upcoming iPhone 4G shows incredible potential with the new 5 megapixel camera with LED flash. This means that upcoming apps are certain to take advantage of the new iPhone’s processing and visual power. What we’ve seen so far of photo photo editing apps will now be updated and improved upon, giving users even more options and freedom to play around with their photos. Apps like these will likely open up new means for users to express their creativity and fundamentally alter the way we share our thoughts and ideas.

This app is incredible! And free! See Rio d Janeiro, New York, Rapa Nui, Hawaii, Moscow, Krakow, Mars… the list goes on and on—dozens of locations! When the app is opened, you can check out “cities,” and “featured.” And within these two areas, there are three more tabs! This app is PACKED with hundreds of gorgeous photos from around the globe. And of course, the photos are 360 degrees, meaning that you can move the camera lens and look at the sky, ground, and 360 degrees around you! It’s like being there! Incredible! Also, while your mind is being blown by the quality of the photos, you can press the “i” logo, which will pop up a window, filled with information about the photo and location. And you can bookmark the photo for later quick reference.
