Pulse News is not your average news app. It is an app that allows you to keep track of all the news sites you frequent and to have them ready for you to read when you access the app. You scroll up and down to view your list of saved news websites and left to right to view excerpts from the features for the day that are on those news sites. It is an app that is really well done and easy to use. The interface is simple yet dynamic, allowing you to scroll from one news website to the next very easily.

Eco-app of the Week: iGreenpeace

Eco-app of the Week: iGreenpeace

Never has going green been easier. The iGreenpeace app is free and every download of it supports the organization and its environmental efforts. The main element of the app is Alex the Penguin, who, through a cute clapping game, teaches you about global warming and what is being done to stop it as well as what obstacles still stand in the way of attacking it. This is a particularly good tool for teaching kids about what’s going on and why it’s important. The app also links you to a constant feed of Greenpeace news, and enables you to quickly and easily sign up to be a Greenpeace activist or donate the cause (of course, only if you wish). So even if you’re not ready to swap your convertible for a Prius, or if you’re just looking for a simple and noncomittal way to hop on the eco-train, downloading the iGreenpeace app is sure to give you some green peace of mind.

How's the weather?

Unless you live in places like southern California, the weather is something you constantly need to check and be prepared for. Even now, in the Summer, you never know when it will be blisteringly hot, horribly humid, or damp and windy. Luckily, there are some weather apps that can help you gather a more accurate daily outlook so that there won’t be many surprises (unless you like getting caught in thunderstorms). These apps are “what’s hot”: Read the rest of this entry »
