The release of the iPad 2 on Friday had people lining up around Apple Retailers, salivating over the thought of getting their hands on the latest in tablet technologies. While the device itself is certainly a lot to get excited about (see my earlier post: Good Things Come in Two’s), there are two more reasons to grab ahold of it: GarageBand and iMovie. Priced at $4.99 a pop, these two apps were made specially for the release of the iPad 2 and enable you to do everything you could do with their computer counterparts. Side note: GarageBand existed for the first-generation iPad, but experts agree that it is a completely different beast on the iPad 2. Now that the iPad 2 has the enhanced graphics, gyroscope, powered-up processor, and oh, not to mention, dual-facing cameras, you can take your movie and music-making inclinations to the next level and on-the-go. With these apps on the iPad 2, touch functions and universal applicability make it so that you can literally mold your creations and carry them with you, and on whatever device you choose. With American Idol back on the air, people nationwide are belting out chords, for better or worse. Well, no matter what kind of pipes you have, if you love to sing, there’s an app that will turn even the nastiest of notes into sweet harmony. LaDiDa is essentially your own professional recording studio, using what they refer to as a reverse karaoke method and  artificial intelligence to analyze and re-vamp your voice. All you do is choose a style and tempo and sing or rap into the  mic, and the app corrects, tunes, and creates your masterpiece. In effect, LaDiDa acts as the band and sound studio that tailors to your voice, making your singing the best it can be. Furthermore, you can share your LaDiDa creations with friends on Facebook, Twitter, and email, and discover what other LaDiDa users have made. Think you need a show and some stellar pipes to launch your career as the next big thing? Think again! With LaDiDa, you can become your own singing sensation.

There is nothing like the feeling of holding a guitar for the first time, its heavy, awkward and all around uncomfortable. The more you practice, the more the instrument becomes an extension of your limbs and you start to wonder how you ever existed without it. This, to me is the best thing about learning an instrument and taking the time to master the craft of the instrument. However, here is an app that allows you to learn how to play the instrument without even holding a guitar.
