Now that the sun is shining and warm weather is (finally) upon us, it’s time to get out, get active, and show off that beach bod. One of the best ways to get fit for the summer season is through interval training, one of the latest and greatest cardio trends to make an impact on the health and fitness scene. Regardless of how you like to get your heart pumping, injecting your cardio with some high intensity intervals has proven to be one of the most effective ways to get the most bang for your body buck. However, in order to execute intervals properly, you need 1 of 2 things: impeccable timing (but let’s face it, who wants to constantly watch the clock as they work out?), or Seconds, a godsend for the interval enthusiast. However, when I conducted a search for such food scanning apps, I found two that go by the same name (with the exception of a space), but have drastically different functions. Here’s a breakdown of Food Scanner versus Foodscanner, so you can choose the scanner that best suits you: Read the rest of this entry »

Chances are you want to look good and stay in shape but aren’t near where you want to be. We all know that exercise is the way to go if you really want to stay in shape (diets almost always fail). But who has time to exercise these days? We work all day and when we get home all we want to do is relax or go out and have fun. There’s simply not enough time in the day or energy in our bodies to stick more hard work into our schedules. Most people think that going green involves significant lifestyle alterations. Well, Eco Chef proves them wrong, and that an eco-friendly approach can start right in your kitchen. The app is brought to you by celebrity chef Bryan Au, and displays many step-by-step videos of how to prepare 10-minute (or less!) recipes that are just as good for your waste line as they are for the environment. The recipes are based on comfort classics and junk-food favorites, but utilize organic foods and cooking techniques that are eco-friendly. Over 100 recipes, drawing inspiration from cuisines all over the world, are showcased through the app, and many of them were created specifically for Eco Chef by Bryan Au! What’s more is the app allows you to interact with the chef himself through the “Bryan Live” feature, so you essentially have a chef at your fingertips! Even if you’re not completely sold on living a green lifestyle, this app is still worthwhile to have because of its nutritious and delicious suggestions and recipes. The fact that it can help the environment is just one heck of a bonus!
