Update: Apple’s Press Conference

As I alluded to in an earlier post, Apple just held a music-themed press conference about the new gadgets they plan to release. Here are some of the most notable points:

iPods are getting a facelift. There will be the new iPod Shuffle, a stamp-sized device that holds 15 hours of music and has voice-over playlists. The iPod Nano will be revamped with a completely touch screen, and will incporate iOS — but there has been no mention of app capabilities. Finally, the iPod Touch will be thinner and will feature a retina display and front and rear cameras to enable FaceTime and HD Video recording. Basically, this makes the iPod Touch an iPhone without the actual phone part — it will be interesting to see if this jumpstarts a trend of WiFi, VoIP calling instead of phone plans!

Apple TV was officially introduced (see the earlier post for what it will include), as it will be released later this month. However, Jobs failed to mention anything about apps or FaceTime, so we can only assume that these are features to come.

So even though a lot of talk about features for these devices is only speculation, we can still fantasize about what is to come. What do you hope to see from Apple in the future?
