One of the top games right now is Doodlejump. With the subtitle, “BE WARNED: Insanely Addictive!”, how could it not be? Naturally, I did not heed the warning, and instead I wanted to see just how hard it would be to put the game down. Well…given how much the “challenge” was built up, it was not so difficult at all. Basically all the game entails is some sort of alien character that jumps from platform to platform, racking up points the higher it goes, occasionally shooting at UFOs and whatnot, and avoiding falling to its death. This actually makes it sound a bit more exciting than it is. While it is fun and the doodle-based graphics are neat and intriguing, I would not go so far to say it’s addicting, and I would certainly not dare to put that in the title. The fact that it is so high up on the Top Paid Games list seems to me to be due to a great job by the game’s marketing team, as with a subtitle like that, it’s bound to pique some interest. My high expectations for the game were not met — were yours? Have you been able to take a break from DoodleJump?
