This is a really fun and quirky app that gives you a daily deal, discounted activity or product going on in any of the 65 featured major U.S or Canadian city. The idea behind Groupon is to give information about a discount, a deal that is happening in your city. If you sign up to the groupon app  you can keep up with the groupons you buy and create a passcode for your account. However, you can still use the app without signing up. Once you choose your city, it will show you the deal that is happening and how many hours you have left to purchase it.

It also gives you the “fine print” of the deal, how long it is offered for and any additional information that would be important for a buyer to know. It summarizes the product that is part of the deal and gives reviews of the business or product. I thought it was a really interesting app because a lot of the deals I have seen are not just about products but involve a fun activity, like kayaking at a discounted price, which was the deal for today in Toronto. You can purchase and redeem your groupon electronically. Using this app could mean making the most out of your day and enjoying it in a way you didn’t expect to. There is no way of knowing what the deal will be in the city of your choice the day you use the app which is a nice element of surprise.
